Hanging Large-Framed Artwork

Hanging wall art is one of the best and simplest ways to decorate. Yet, this can be a challenging task as well. You can easily do this, though, with a few simple steps.

The first step is to look for the right spot in the house. Perhaps you want to have the best light so that the artwork will stand out. You also might like a place where the art piece could bring balance. If it possible, have someone hold the artwork in place so that you can see if it fits. Another thing to consider is the method of hanging as well as the wall you will hang the piece on. You have several options such as putting screws into the walls or getting picture hooks. You can go to your local home improvement store for these materials.

When you do have your tools and equipment, measure the width and length of the piece as well as the space you want it to occupy. This is an important step before doing the hammering and drilling part. After getting the measurements, determine where to put the hooks and screws. Make temporary markings on the frame and the wall. It would be much better to put the screws and hooks into the studs of the walls rather than the sheet of wall. If you do otherwise, the large artwork could tear the wall apart. This, of course, does not apply if you have a concrete wall. After you have lined up the hooks, it is time to hang the art piece. If the artwork looks tilting, make the necessary adjustments.
